Peek Gaddis, a 22 year-old mom from Colerain Township, Ohio, admitted her 2 month-old’s cries kept her from sleeping so she struck him several times in the head with her fists.
The mom stands accused of punching her son’s tiny skull several times causing bone fractures. She’s now being held on a $15,000 bond at the Hamilton County jail until the case goes to a court jury trial.
One of the skull fractures from the child abuse resulted in bleeding on the brain. It’s known that severe bleeding leads to future “developmental delays and problems controlling movement. Up to one in five with severe bleeding can die.” Family Services has removed the infant and a 1-year-old sibling from Gaddis into foster care.
