Meet The World's Shortest Couple

The world's shortest couple - who both measure less then three feet tall - have proved that size doesn't matter when it comes to love. Paulo Gabriel da Silva Barros and Katyucia Hoshino, from Brazil, both have forms of dwarfism and stand at 34.8in and 35.2in respectively.
The pair, who hope to enter the Guinness Book of World Records, said they met on a social media website ten years ago and started chatting on MSN Messenger.

Paulo, 30, who has a rare genetic condition called diastrophic dysplasia dwarfism, said it was love at first sight for him.

'I found her very beautiful from the first moment I saw her,' he said

But the attraction wasn't mutual. Katyucia, 26, who has achondroplasia dwarfism, which affects bone growth, initially blocked him on the instant messaging site.

She said: 'The first time I started talking to Paulo, he was really annoying. He had cheap-pick up lines.'

Paulo, who works as a legal secretary, said:

'She thought I was trying to flirt but I was just being nice. According to her I was a really boring guy.'

That would have been the end of the matter, if Katyucia hadn't suddenly decided to unblock him 18 months later.

Katyucia, who now owns her own beauty salon that has been specially adapted for her size, said:

'One day something happened in my head and I went and unblocked him. By then he was already more relatable.'

Paulo said:

'When she unblocked me, it didn't take me more than a minute to say hello. we started speaking and she said I was more civilised.'

Two months later, Paulo travelled more than 186 milies to Katyucia's home city of Londrina to meet her.He said he was bowled over by Katyucia's beauty, but she was shy and unimpressed with his dress sense.

Paulo said: 'What most attracted me to her, besides her beauty, was how sweet she was. It was her sweet personality.'

The beautician said:

'He was wearing an orange shirt, jeans and sunglasses - thank God it has improved since then.'

Despite Katyucia's concerns about the long distance between them, five days later the pair started dating and after four years they moved in together.

Katyucia said: 'I had never dated before so Paulo is my first boyfriend, my first everything.'

Now they say they're are like any other couple. Paulo has a specially-adapted car to enable him to drive, while Katyucia's beauty salon has been specially modified for her height.

Paulo, who has ambitions to run for mayor in his home town of Itapeva, said: 'Basically, we are a normal couple but our height is a little smaller.

'The best thing about our relationship is our closeness, our companionship we have for each other.

He said internal revenue could be more than what was realized if Sub-divisional Councils stopped the collection of building permit levies and advertisement taxes.

The Senior Divisional Officer for Meme, Koulbout Aman David, lauded the Government Delegate and his team for a job well done, thanks to excellent team work between the Government Delegate, Grand Councillors, the Secretary General and the Treasurer. He called on the Treasurer not to relent his efforts in revenue collection. 'I was born without a womb, cervix and vagina'...Joanna Giannouli (read below)

Joanna Giannouli, 27, who was born without a womb, cervix and vagina has spoken out about the condition which means she'll never be able to have children. Joanna was unaware she had Rokitansky syndrome until she went to see a doctor after she hadn't started her period like her other girls her age, BBC reports. Medics discovered she didn't have a vaginal tunnel and sent her for major surgery at the age of 17 to create one in order for her to have sex.
Rokitansky syndrome, which affects one in 5,000, means a woman is born with an underdeveloped or absent womb, cervix and upper vagina but have ovaries and external genitalia and still develop breasts and pubic hair.

The operation to create a vagina was revolutionary in Athens, Greece, where Joanna lives, but it left her in a lot of pain as the tunnel was 'narrow and small' and she had to go back to have the entrance expanded.

She says that after that she was physically fine but emotionally she struggled with the condition, particularly with 'abusive' comments from partners.
At one stage, when she was 21, she was due to be married but her partner broke off the engagement when he found out about the condition. Joanna told BBC Magazine's Harry Low:
"It steals your happiness, your mentality, your chances of having a good and stable relationship."It leaves you with a huge void that cannot be filled, it fills you with anger, guilt, and shame."Well, it's been almost 10 years. I'm still feeling bad about it but I'm not ashamed any more, it's been way too long. And I've realised that I cannot change it, it's just the way it is, I have to embrace it and live with it.For the first few years, and still sometimes, I thought I was worthless. Damaged goods. Not worthy of being loved. I was a lost soul for many years. It can destroy your life. It puts you in a really hard position. I battled depression, anxiety, panic attacks, you name it.It taught me a lesson. Although I don't believe in God, I do believe that this was a huge wake-up call - never take anything for granted.Joanna says she has been in a loving a stable relationship for the last five years, and her partner has known about the condition from the start and accepts they may never have children.
 She added:
"I would love to be a mother in some way, be it a biological, a surrogate mother or a foster mum. A mother is not the one who gives birth but is the woman who cares for a child."
However Joanna says that she is living each days as it comes and not making any plans for the future.

She says one of the most heartbreaking things is that her mother believes she may have done something wrong in pregnancy to have caused it.
Joanna has explained to her mother that it's a genetic condition - and one which is stigmatised particularly in Greece where she claims people are quite close-minded.

CAMEROON: US CONVOY KILLS A 7 YEAR OLD BOY

The motorcade carrying the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Samantha Powers, struck and killed a 7-year-old boy in northern Cameroon today, U.S. officials said.

The boy darted out into the road when he was struck by an armored vehicle carrying U.S. officials.
He was apparently distracted by the helicopter flying over the convoy that was offering close aerial support, a U.S. official said.

Power confirmed that the Cameroonian boy died of his injuries shortly after being hit. A spokesman for the ambassador said she was “devastated” to learn of the incident.
“We visited with the boy’s family to offer our profound condolences and to express our grief and heartbreak with what the family is going through,” Power said in a statement.
The ambassador’s delegation was accompanied by a number of journalists, including ABC News’ Juju Chang.

Neither Power nor the journalists were in the car that struck the young boy.
The cars were traveling around 43 mph, a U.S. official said.
Power is in Cameroon to kick off a week-long trip focused on the war against the militant group Boko Haram that will also include stops in Chad and Nigeria.

After the accident, ABC News followed Power to a refugee camp where she met a girl who escaped after being forced married to a Boko Haram fighter.
While meeting with the girl, the ambassador became emotional.
“You’re a 14-year-old girl in your village, these guys show up and say, ‘Hey, I have a choice for you. I am going to kill you or you can marry me.’ The quadruply sad part of it is — it’s clear she thinks she made a choice, that wasn’t a choice,” she said, getting choked up.

Today’s accident happened at a time when the delegation that took pains to draw attention to the horrors inflicted on children facing violence from Boko Haram.

The ambassador’s trip also comes on the heels of the second anniversary of the Chibok girls’ kidnapping.
Last week, UNICEF released a chilling report saying the abducted schoolgirls are being used with lethal effectiveness as suicide bombers.

There were 151 suicide attacks by Boko Haram in the region in 2015 alone, according to the report. One in five of those attacks were by children and 75 percent of them were conducted by girls.

This Man is sentenced to 200 years in prison for raping & urinating on a toddler

A former US Coast Guard who filmed himself raping and urinating on an 18-month-old girl in a motel has been sentenced up to 200 years in prison. During the sentencing hearing at The Kent County Circuit Court in Michigan on Thursday, Judge Mark Trusock told Eric Devin Master:
'You are truly an evil individual and we need to make sure that you are never allowed in society', Detroit Free Press reported
Devin Masters, 29, who was already sentenced to 50-years last month for making sexually explicit videos of children in five counties throughout the state, claimed he had an addiction to child pornography and said he had been a victim of abuse himself.

Masters, who pleaded guilty to three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, was accused of taking the toddler to a motel in 2012, where he tied her arms and legs to bedposts and raped her. He told the court he assaulted her three times over the course of eight days.

According to FBI reports, Masters filmed himself engaging in multiple sex acts with the toddler before urinating on her in a video that he emailed to others in exchange for more child pornography.

The girl's mother begged the judge to keep Masters locked up, testifying that her daughter is still traumatized at the age of five.

Masters apologized for the 'horrible crime' and told the court:
'Something horrible was done to me and number my emotions to others. 'And then I committed the same horrible thing to others. With God's help we can both be healed.'

Thousands march in Harare to protest against Robert Mugabe

Demonstration organised by opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai is biggest in years as Zimbabwe’s economic problems worsen
In one of the biggest protests seen in Zimbabwe in recent years, thousands of opposition supporters marched in the capital to denounce Robert Mugabe’s alleged misrule.

Alleged Mugabe cronies kept offshore firms years after UN alert raised
After sanctions were imposed, it took four years for all companies linked to John Bredenkamp to be shut down, Panama Papers show

Mostly wearing the red colours of the main opposition MDC-T party, marchers in Harare chanted songs denouncing the 92-year-old president, who recently said he had no plans to step down.

Such huge demonstrations are rare in Zimbabwe, where police routinely use force to break up opposition protests.

Police had initially banned Thursday’s march before a court overturned the ban. The opposition leader, Morgan Tsvangirai, who shared power with Mugabe for five years before losing disputed elections in 2013, organised the march.

Women with children strapped to their backs joined marchers carrying placards demanding that Mugabe step down. He has been in power since independence from white minority rule in 1980.

Some marchers carried banners reading “Old clueless Mugabe must go”. “Where is our $15bn dollars?” read one placard, in reference to recent statements by Mugabe that $15bn worth of diamonds had been looted in eastern Zimbabwe.

Morgan Tsvangirai addresses supporters in Harare.
Another placard read “Where are our 2.2m jobs?” referring to Mugabe’s 2013 election pledge to create jobs.

Zimbabwe is battling a worsening economic decline, highlighted by company closures and growing unemployment.

Mugabe has previously said he wouldn’t resign, adding that he would rule “until God says come”.

A teacher was caught raping a pupil at Ecole Beryla at Maeture, Rond Point Damas. The teacher who is only known as Sone, has HIV AIDs and has reportedly raped about eight girls. He is currently in police custody at Efoulan Police Station.

Student commits suicide in Douala

Hugues Christian Petchou Sah ran away after suffering the wrath of his parents because he stole FCFA 12 000.

Already two young people are dead through suicide in the space of one week in Douala. After the teenager who killed himself with his father’s gun a week ago, another young man chose to end his life early this week. The body of Hugues Christian Petchou Sah, 18-year-old was found in an advanced state of putrefaction on April 6, 2016.
He was found after three days of fierce searching, hung in a room in an abandoned house near his parent's house at a place called “Lele” in the Mboko neighbourhood, Douala III subdivision.

According to the Suelaba radio station, Fm 105 which reported the sad news, it was the smell emanating from the already decomposing body of the student in terminale (upper sixth in French) at Collège Educateurs, that alerted the neighbourhood.

The drama unfolds from April 3, 2016. Petchou Sah’s parents did not appreciate the fact that he stole FCFA 12 000 and express their anger against him. The student, dissatisfied, left the home. No one knew where he went to… The Regional Division of the Judicial Police for the Littoral noted the lifeless body before handing it to his family for burial.

WTH is the world becoming...See two male lions mating after ignoring a lioness

This has got to be unnatural on every level. Mufasa won't be happy with this...lol. Two gay lions were photographed 'mating' in a safari park in Botswana, after ignoring a pregnant lioness.

The photographs were taken by Belgian lawyer, Nicole Cambré, during a safari trip. See more photos and what she said about it after the cut...
"These males had pushed out the resident males earlier in the year and the other female lions had headed into the Mopani woodlands; an area difficult to access with a safari vehicle.
'Only one lioness was seen in the centre of the concession where the male lions were and the lions showed no interest in the lioness leading to the assumption that she may have been pregnant.

'It is the first time I have seen homosexual behaviour in lions, but when reading about it upon my return, it is not that uncommon. With the light just around sunset, it gave some spectacular images.
